African-American Student Union

 

(AASU)

 

The African-American Student Union is an organization focused on promoting cultural awareness and unity on college campuses.  Its purpose is to assist in the recruitment, retention, and graduation of students by fostering academic excellence.

 

Members of this organization plan and participate in:

·         Social/cultural activities

·         Educational workshops

·         Community service activities

·         Fundraisers for conference trips

·         Many other extra-curricular college activities

 

Students are encouraged to join AASU for the following reasons:

·         To discover academic support resources at BCC

·         To increase personal growth and development

·         To increase cultural awareness

·         To socialize and make new friends

·         To become involved in campus and community activities

·         To exchange new ideas

·         To enhance leadership skills

·         To attend conferences and workshops throughout the state

·         To meet students from other campuses and colleges

 

Any currently enrolled BCC student may join AASU.
